The Adrenal Cocktail is something I found very helpful at times to boost my energy and support my body when I was under a lot of stress. (Stressed as a mom...say whaaaaat?!)When we are under stress we use up resources quicker and our adrenals have to work very hard. Adrenals are the glands which produce cortisol, our stress hormone.It contains about 60mg of vitamin C, which gives us bioavailable copper, enzymes that stimulates the liver and collagen production and helps activate neurotransmitters for energy production.It contains about 375mg of potassium, which is very important to keep the cells hydrated and lower the workload for the adrenals. It's also a mineral many people don't get enough of per day.It contains about 460mg of sodium. When we are under stress sodium is taken from our cells. Refilling with sodium helps support the electrolyte balance in the body, aids in magnesium absorption and improving insulin sensitivity.To give ourselves a boost during stressful times this can be a great addition.There are a few variations out there but I love this recipe by @Realfoodgangstas.
Instead of orange juice you can use a high quality vitamin C powder.Instead of coconut water you can use aloe juice or cream of tartar.Instead of sea salt you can use trace mineral drops.
